Step-by-Step

Understanding Step-by-Step helps you to do things at the right time and order.  Step-by-Step is partly the same and partly different when you place an order for manufacturing or when you place an order for purchase. So we mix them below using M for manufacturing and P for purchase  and MP when actual for both in front of each point - see these letters first on each point below. (You may have both Manufacturing and Purchase in the same order.) The TIME-info is a ruff estimate and can differ depending on product etc, specifications, quantity and so on. Note that some steps may overlap each other in regard to when they are done hence the total time can be less than the sum of each step involved. The actual time can be both shorter and longer. The more you leave to us to handle the faster it normally will be done.

First from before you contact us to when you have an offer

MP1: We only deal with companies, B2B, and not B2C i.e. end customers. So before placing an order you must have a company. This includes that we may need company registration number as well as VAT (similar) tax registration number. You can start the process without a company but must have one  before formally placing the order. / TIME: Up to you and how long time a registration of a company takes at your place. MP2: You must know what you want. If you need help with design or other issues its OK and we can even give some help in developing your business strategy. But you should never contact an exporter/agent/manufacturer before you have made up your idea what you want. And always remember that different factories can make different items and quantities. Do not ask for a factory before you have your specifications as you then probably get contact with the wrong factory. It’s not even enough if you ask for a factory who can make, let say T-shirts or brass items. Because different factories may differ in what they can do depending on exact design, material, and so on. If you want a woven pattern into your T-shirt may need a different factory from if you want a printed image on the front, etc. So first you make your homework (with or without our help). MP3: First decide on what product(s) you want. And include the decision on who is your customer for the same and how you are going to sell it. If you tell us not only about the product but how you plan to sell (website, physical shop, home-parties, exhibitions, whole-selling, via salesman traveling around – or some kind of combination) then we can help you better. TIME: Few weeks? M4: Make the design. Full info and make it into a request. TIME: Depends on how many different designs you have and how detailed and how complicated it is. Perhaps 2 days per design or perhaps more. P5: Make a request for what you want us to purchase. As much info you can give so we get it right. If you want us to buy multiple items give info on all items. Or you may have a request where you gives us a more open mandate like: “We have a gift shop specialised on brass items and we want a selection of suitable products for €1,500 – please see photo examples attached.” Or We deal in kids items from garments to toys and are looking for unique kids products but each product must have a maximum price of €20.” TIME: Probably 1 to 10 hours depending on what you want. MP6: Send your request to us. Include if you have any latest delivery date and how you want it to be delivered.  TIME: 1 hour MP7: You will also give us a total or maximum budget, per item and/or in total, plus info on the quantity you want. TIME; 1 hour, included in MP6 MP8: We will study your request and then follows a period with back and forward communication so that we can understand exactly what you want. Also we may in some cases suggest changes to your request in order to optimize your request so it gets better or even in some cases to make it possible if your request includes some “impossibilities”. This all leads up to that we either will give you an offer or tell you that we cannot handle your request. TIME: 7 days to 2 month, much depends on how fast you answer or send e- mails. MP9: We give you an offer. And you say Yes or No to it, or, you suggest any changes based on the info you have got from us.  TIME: Few days.

You place your order

MP10: We confirm or decline your orderTIME: Normally 2 working days. MP11: We issue an invoice. TIME: 1-3 working days. MP12: You make the down payment (normally between 50% and 100%, the later when the total amount is small or when purchasing).  TIME: 1-7 days before we see the same. MP13: When we receive your down payment we start the order process. TIME: 1 to 30 days. M14: We and the factory/factories will start the pre-manufacturing process. This may include ordering material and accessories as well as making same kind of sample(s). TIME: Typically 2-3 month, but can differ both ways (shorter or longer time). Remember that for each step during the manufacturing your order normally has to “be in a que” among other orders. M15: Manufacturing and sampling. TIME: Typically 1 to 3 month. P16: We set one or few days when we will purchase and in some cases you decide if you want to take part “online” if that’s possible perhaps using Skype or WhatsApp. Else we may communicate by E-mail in advance. TIME: From 1 to 15 days plus waiting time for those given purchase dates. (We must have the right person at the right location in order to purchase, so sometimes there could be a delay in starting this step.) P17: We purchase at one or several occasions. TIME: Vary. MP18: Control of products, finishing and packing. TIME: 1 to 40 days depending on products and quantity.

The final process

MP19: Shipping. TIME: Depends on shipping by air (typically about 3-7 days) or by surface (To Europe typically 4-7 weeks). MP20: Custom clearance. TIME: 1-2 days. (Normally you have to pay damages if you pick up later than in 2 days) MP 21: Transport to you. TIME Depends how the product reaches you like if you pick up yourself or the goods comes with a transporter. Then you may yourself need time for unpacking, storage, etc. at your end. Total time may differ from 4 weeks to 12 months depending on its variables. Below 2-3 months are unusual. And first-time orders for those new to the business often takes longer because you also have to get a hang of it.
