Other issues

There are several other issues you need to understand and include in your planning. Who these issues are depends on the product you want to order, quantity and as well on other circumstances that may play a roll. Here we inform on some of them: Extras, packing, transport and then when you import multiple types of products.

Extras

You may need extras of various kinds depending on the product you want to have: Buttons, zippers, etc Labels, hang tags, etc Rhinestones and other such things - also see our Material Pages for textiles For jewellery you may need different stones, for a neckless you may need a chain hook or a chain lock, etc. For a decoration lamp you may need an electric part suitable as per your country’s sockets and regulations. And so on Each “extras” has its own demands, its own minimum, its own delivery time when manufacturing, and so on. Your request must include info also on all extras you need if you want manufacturing done, or for purchase you must give info on extras that must be there.

Packing

There are different types of packing Item pack, if each product has its own packing. Perhaps they need a packing to be on display in a shop, or just to be separated from each other. You may need or not need printing etc on these packings. Inner box, this is a box where we normally pack a number of similar items. You may want them packed by type of item so that for instance the same product in the same size and colour is in the same inner box. Or perhaps you want them packed mixed – ready for shops or other such customers or your own different outlets – let say you have one product in different sizes or one product with different colours and then as your specification, example: 3 red, 2 blue, 4 black och 3 white in each box. How many items you can pack depends on the size of the inner box. If any info should be given on the inner box you must tell us. Outer box, this is a box where we pack several inner boxes, perhaps 4 inner boxes per outer box. What info, if any, should be on the outer box you must tell us. Remember that if you will store the boxes in a store of yourself or you customer is a shop that need to store the same its important to tell not only what info should be given on the box but also on which side; top, long side, short side, … But remember that the more you demand, the more you have to pay for it.

Transport

There are different types of transport and terms for shipping. Read more info on our import-page. Here we just want to tell you that you must decide if you want transport by air or surface (ship, train, truck). Transport by surface is lower than by air normally, but in smaller quantities it happens that the price for air is less or the same – the reason is that surface by ship has some extra costs like off-load-charges that is not there by air. But for bigger quantities the transport cost normally is double by air. For expensive jewellery etc you may want courier transport for the sake of security. Also if you want the gods faster you need to go for the faster option. We have had buyers who purchased machines that was many times more costly to take by air compared to by ship but still selected the air option as they would earn more than the difference in cost for transport during the extra time the machine would be in use due to faster transport. On the other hand some buyers select the surface option for environmental reasons.

Multiple types of products

Perhaps you have a shop (physical or online) and want a mix of products. Example: Some garments, some jewellery, some beauty products. And then they will have different factories, and/or different wholesalers and/or come from different parts of India. In such a case there has to be a decision if the items shall be sent together in one go or one shipment to you from each origin. The issues are: One go will probably have a lower transport price per kg from India but domestic transport in India is extra when comming from different factories. If there is more than one exporter then there may be some coordination costs.  There could be a time factor if different items are ready for transport at different dates. We will handle these things but you should be aware of this. End of Basic Info.
